Questions - and No Answers

Today's post, though not the title, is courtesy of someone who calls himself E. P. Unum. Apparently a bona fide patriot and I thank him because in searching for him I came across another conservative online news service to which he seems to contribute, along with other writers of interesting, thoughtful articles.

I'm quoting only a small portion of the Unum text. You can read the entire article at the link above. It's  been reprinted elsewhere so  you can probably find it on other sites if you care to do a search.

5.  With so many Americans unemployed during this pandemic, why is it that our elected representatives in Congress and the Senate, as well as State Governors and City Mayors continue to receive full salaries and benefits? These people, our elected officials, made the decision to close down our economy and the jobs of millions of Americans. Why are they not held to the same standards as we the people? Why don’t they willingly forego their salaries until we defeat this assault on our nation? Maybe if they were in the same boat with the rest of us, they might be more inclined to work together developing and implementing solutions to our problems instead of continuing to have these schoolyard arguments and get nothing done?
.....

12.  Here are a few more questions I have:

Are we being quarantined until there are no more germs left in the world or just until after the election?
Why is it OK to stand in line at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Costco, but it suddenly is not safe to vote in person?
Can someone explain to me the rationale for the teachers union objecting to teachers returning to work unless (1) police are defunded; (2)There is Medicare for all; (3) all charter and private schools are abolished and (4) 54% of all schools have their ventilation systems improved. How does any of this justify having teachers not report to work?
When I think of Martin Luther King I try to reflect on the times he led riots in our city streets; burned down businesses; looted stores and tore down statues. Then it dawned on me…MLK never did any of those things. Yet, he changed the world! There must be a lesson in this, don’t you agree?

13.   If the U.S. Flag is racist, why did it drape the coffin of Congressman John Lewis? Equally, why did Nancy Pelosi deliver a folded flag to the widow of George Floyd, a convicted criminal?

16.   Under Obama the H1N1 Virus resulted in 60.8 million infections; there was zero panic level and China was blamed. Fast forward to today, there are 4.6 million cases of coronavirus reported; the panic level is one of mass hysteria covered 24/7 by the news cycle and Trump is blamed! Wonder why that is?

19.  One last remark, just in case you are wondering. I am a firm, dedicated believer in the LGBT Movement:

Behind the Mask

Hey, anybody out there know what carbon dioxide is? No? It's CO2. You know, that stuff little Greta got so upset about because it  supposedly is the cause of 'global warming' that she jumped in her trusty little boat, all alone, right, and sailed to the new world to chastise people to stop causing so much of it. Why? Because so much CO2 mixed with the oxygen in the atmosphere is hurting the planet? And presumably, the people on the planet?
Guess what? Our lungs breathe in that atmosphere, and hard-working organs as they are, they send the CO2 back out and keep the oxygen, which feeds all the cells in our bodies. Neat, huh? Wonder Who thought of that? Never mind.
Came this dread disease, which has claimed many lives, MANY unnecessarily because an effective treatment, long on the market and allowed to be used by doctors, was denied. First the 'expert' everyone listened to said, 'masks might make you feel better, but not effective as a preventative.' Then wait, for some reason, (numbers were falling fast) the 'expert' switched, 'all must wear masks to prevent the spread.' And leaders fell into line and some 'mandated' and some 'recommended,' but people were quick to obey and 'Karens' try to shame those who refuse to comply. But the refusers have good and sufficient reasons for doing so.
Remember, oxygen in, CO2 out? Well, any object, anything that covers the mouth and nose interferes with the CO2 escaping and oxygen entering, slow suffocation. With masks, as we breathe, some of the CO2 is sucked right back into our lungs, which displaces the life-giving oxygen. Get the picture? Yes, there are masks, PPE, personal protective equipment, that allow a slower process, but those are not the ones most people are wearing. Medical personnel wear that type to prevent contamination by droplets or other exchange between themselves and patients. Presumably, too, so they can stay alert while treating said patients.
So what happens when you rebreathe CO2? Answer-partial hypoxia, worse for some health conditions. The first definition for hypoxia in the The American Heritage® Medical Dictionary Copyright © 2007, 2004 by Houghton Mifflin Company. Published by Houghton Mifflin Company. All rights reserved,  is:
1. Deficiency in the amount of oxygen reaching body tissues.
This deficiency can result in:
Signs and symptoms vary according to the cause. Generally they include dyspnea, rapid pulse, syncope, and mental disturbances such as delirium or euphoria. Cyanosis (blue tint to skin) is not always present and in some cases is not evident until the hypoxia is far advanced. The localized pain of angina pectoris occurs because of impaired oxygenation of the myocardium.
(Hmmm, that's why individuals with this condition, as well as asthma, etc., are given a pass from wearing a mask? The rest of us must just deal with it?)
Discoloration of the skin and eventual ulceration that sometimes accompany varicose veins are a result of hypoxia of the involved tissues.
 dyspnea
breathlessness or shortness of breath; labored or difficult breathing. It is a sign of a variety of disorders and is primarily an indication of inadequate ventilation or of insufficient amounts of oxygen in the circulating blood.  Adj: dyspne´ic.
 syncope
fainting, passing out
A last observation. Odd that the most used supposed preventative (mask) for a disease, one of whose main symptoms is shortness of breath, can also cause the very same thing. If a person is in hospital they may be put on a ventilator, and patients on ventilators have brought millions of dollars to hospitals from the federal government.

Worthless?

So, preborn babies are not real humans, not worth anything so they can just be thrown away. But, wait, it seems they are worth something, the love of which is the root of all evil. Certainly the evil of abortion. MONEY.

But, but we know those doctors are just providing abortions out of concern for humanity, aren't they? They don't take money from and deceive women, do they? They wouldn't possibly take money for doing an abortion and then ALSO make MORE money by selling the 'worthless products of conception' to the highest bidder, would they? But, but it's for research. It's legal, under Federal law. They sell to the LOWEST bidding research facility, do they? So why does an intact head command the highest price?

If your mind is already made up that any opposition to abortion is just over-zealous religiosity, don't click on the link below and read the report. But if you have the slightest inkling there might be something to it, please click.

I know many, many women who opt for abortion are deceived. They think they just have a bunch of undifferentiated cells that need to be scraped out. Many just can't see any other way out of their unplanned pregnancy dilemma. Or they have been coerced by boy friend, husband, parents to 'get rid of it.' Abortion supporters fight any attempt to provide women considering abortion with ultrasound evidence of just what those 'cells' are. When they (rarely) get a glimpse of those 'cells' in a bucket or jar, with arms and legs and eyes and ears, they are shocked. And sometimes never get over the shock, even with alcohol and drugs. And, certainly, the ones who have their uterus punctured and have to be hustled out the back door to a real hospital and die don't get over it. But that only happens in those old illegal abortions of long ago. Doesn't it?

One thing I've never, ever understood is why ANYONE would object to an abortion clinic being held to the same standards of cleanliness as a walk-in general medical clinic. I guess if a boyfriend, husband, parent doesn't care about the innocent baby involved they're not worried if girlfriend, wife or daughter is penetrated by unsterile instruments in an unclean environment.

It's not like she's getting her ears pierced. Which, by the way, requires parental approval. But PP and abortion supporters fight tooth and nail against parental notification/approval for abortion. And state legislature after state legislature has caved to pressure and refused to pass laws requiring minimum standards of cleanliness and care in abortion clinics.

Double standard anyone?

Sharing something I received in an email.

It just occurred to me; With all the noise the media is making about Romney's wealth, I don't recall such bluster and hand-wringing over the Kennedy fortune.

Or, for that matter, John Kerry.
Or the fact that John Kerry gave virtually nothing to charity while Romney gave something on the order of $4 million, in addition to his entire inheritance from his father.

Biden gave less than 1.5% of his income to charity. And Obama pays a lower tax rate than his secretary. Buffett Rule?

Oh. Wait. I just remembered. Romney is Republican.
Kerry and the Kennedys are Democrats.

Also, Romney worked for his money.
Kennedy inherited his.
And Kerry married his.
Obama spends yours on vacations.

Never mind. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
